Christie Clinic on University welcomes Abe Kocheril, MD, to the Department of Cardiology.

In the Department of Cardiology, Dr. Kocheril specializes in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders. He performs electrophysiology procedures and implants pacemakers and defibrillators to correct irregular heart rhythms.
Dr. Kocheril received his bachelor and medical degrees from New York University in New York, NY. He fulfilled his internship and residency at Brown University (The Miriam Hospital) in Providence, RI. He completed his fellowships in cardiology and electrophysiology at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT.
Dr. Kocheril is a wine expert, having written articles and a book chapter on wine, and speaks on wine. One of his research interests is the effects of music on the heart. With his interest in athletes’ hearts, he runs an Athletes Cardiovascular Evaluation clinic and is part of a national sports cardiology network.
