Did you know that an estimated 300 million people worldwide suffer from asthma?

Asthma is a disease of the lungs in which the airways become blocked or narrowed causing breathing difficulty. (Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America)

In order to raise awareness to members of the Champaign community about this condition, Christie Clinic is celebrating Asthma Awareness month this May! Asthma awareness month aims to encourage people to get their lungs tested for an early indication and treatment plan of diseases such as asthma.

Asthma Awareness Events

Christie Clinic invites the community to take part in Asthma Awareness from 1 p.m.–4 p.m. on the following days and locations:

Christie Clinic on Windsor (Champaign)
2^nd floor Education Room

May 12
Christie Clinic in Mahomet

May 19
Christie Clinic on University
1^st floor Main Conference Room

May 26
Christie Clinic in Rantoul

Attendees will receive free Spirometry tests, also called lung function screenings and receive information on asthma and lung health. Plus, they can enter to win door prizes, including a complete pulmonary function test valued at $800!

Christie Clinic's goal of these events is to educate the community on existing lung conditions, teach attendees how to lower their risk of developing a lung condition, and help them learn how to treat it if they are diagnosed.
