The Christie Clinic Departments of Dermatology and Pulmonary Medicine will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, November 17 to showcase the newly remodeled Lower Level. The Open House will be held at Christie Clinic on 101 W. University Avenue from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. Wine and cheese will be served.

All Christie patients can benefit from these renovations. The lower level heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical systems have been updated to be more energy efficient.  There are 23 patient rooms designed to enhance the patient’s visits with their providers.  These include ‘state or the art’ rooms for exams, procedures and treatments.  This renovated space accommodates nine Christie providers.  The updated reception station and waiting rooms are a welcoming environment for patients and family members.

The Department of Pulmonary Medicine will be giving free spirometry testing. Spirometry tests measure the amount and/or speed of air that can be inhaled or exhaled. The Department of Dermatology will be raffling off a Clarisonic brush for at-home cosmetic needs.

Educational sessions will be offered throughout the evening. Dr. Jeremy Youse from the Department of Dermatology will speak on Mohs surgery for skin cancer patients, and Dr. Lester Fahrner, also from the Department of Dermatology, will speak on the topic of healthy skin. Both physicians will speak about cosmetic dermatology and cover procedures that are done with needles and lasers. Dr. Salman Sheikh will speak on sleep apnea, and Dr. Danish Thameem will speak on asthma. They are both from the Department of Pulmonary Medicine.
