Cardio Check is for individuals considered to be at high risk for developing heart disease. The procedure doesn't require a referral, and is open to everyone, regardless of your health care provider; however, people who should consider Cardio Check are those with the following risk factors:

• Men over 40, women over 45* • Obesity
• Family history of heart disease • History of smoking
• High cholesterol • Inactive lifestyles
• High blood pressure • High stress levels

*If many of your family members have suffered from heart disease, you may want to consider Cardio Check even earlier.

If one or more of these factors apply to you, we encourage you to talk with your doctor about considering this procedure. Patients who have had previous cardiovascular treatment or surgery, including coronary stenting, coronary bypass surgery, pacemaker placement, or valve replacement, are not candidates for Cardio Check.
