Infectious Disease
The specialists in the Department of Infectious Disease diagnose and treat diseases transmitted through direct or indirect contact with infectious germs. These diseases may or may not be contagious, and the infections may occur in hospitalized patients or patients with underlying disease. Christie infectious disease specialists are also concerned with prevention of diseases that a person may be exposed to during international travel or as a result of contact with contagious individuals or animals.
