Christie Clinic Celebrates 80th Anniversary

On June 1, Christie Clinic turned 80 years old. Since the Christie brothers started the clinic in 1929, Christie Clinic has grown to include:

  • More than 120 providers
  • More than 40 departments and 35 specialties
  • Clinics and specialty centers in Champaign, Danville, Mahomet, Rantoul, Tuscola, and Urbana
  • Two Convenient Care at County Market locations, making Christie Clinic the first provider in the area to offer health care in a retail environment

But Christie wouldn't be where they are today without the community's help. As recognition to the community for supporting Christie Clinic over the years, the clinic is organizing a service project with the YMCA on Church Street and Country Fair Drive. Christie team members will help the community improve its landscaping and more by pruning, raking, and planting flowers.

"Although we're celebrating 80 years of serving east central Illinois, we've really just begun our journey to improve health care in the area," said Alan Gleghorn, Chief Executive Officer. "As the oldest multi-specialty group medical practice in central Illinois, we've worked hard to provide our patients with a caring and compassionate staff, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and convenient access to care."

"We look forward to continue meeting the area's health care needs and improving our processes and services to best provide medicine for your life," Gleghorn said. 

To celebrate the milestone, Christie treated its providers and employees to a very special birthday party complete with balloons and cupcakes on June 2.
