The 4th Annual Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon is April 26-28, 2012. The race weekend includes a marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 10k, 5k and a youth run.
1st Annual Runners' Symposium
The Christie Foundation will host its 1st Annual Runners' Symposium at Christie on Windsor on February 18. Presetnations will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is open to the public and aimed at current and hopeful runners, especially those planning or wanting to participate in the upcoming Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon on April 27-28, 2012. Health and Fitness Expo
Marathon & Beyond and Body n’ Sole present the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon Health & Fitness Expo, sponsored by Great Harvest Bread Company, on Thursday, April 26, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, April 27, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The expo will take place at the University of Illinois Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) and feature national and local vendors, as well as national organizations and prominent running events. Most importantly, the expo is where you pick up your packet. C-U there!

Alan Gleghorn
Chief Executive OfficerAlan has more than 30 years of progressive health care experience. He started his career in the medical field as a paramedic/patient care specialist with the United States Army. After this, he served in executive leadership roles in several different health care entities. Alan joined Christie Clinic as Chief Executive Officer in 1999. At Christie, he has led a cultural transformation committed to developing strong leaders throughout the organization and initiated the clinic’s Lean journey. Alan received his MBA from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Medical Practice Executive. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Provena Covenant Medical Center.

Kenneth Bilger
Chief Financial OfficerKenny joined Christie Clinic in June 2008. He is responsible for Christie Clinic’s financial, business, information technology, and facility operations. Kenny is also the Chairman and CEO of Community Partners Health Plans, Inc., a Champaign-based health care services company offering comprehensive PPO network solutions, third-party administration, and general agency services to providers, payors, and employers. Kenny received his MBA from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Dr. William Pierce
Chief Medical OfficerDr. Pierce joined Christie Clinic's Department of Podiatry in 1987. In addition to his practice, he currently serves on Christie Clinic's Board of Directors and as the clinic's Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Pierce participates in recruiting and retaining physicians, mentors physicians and non-physicians, and serves as a goodwill ambassador to the community. He also oversees the Christie Clinic quality program and credentialing of medical providers.

The Christie Clinic Breast Cancer Support Group
The Breast Cancer Support Group meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month. The meetings take place in the second floor meeting room at Christie on Windsor, 1801 West Windsor Road in Champaign. A notice is mailed each month prior to the event. This wellness-focused group is comprised of breast cancer survivors of all ages and experienced health care professionals. Our goal is to share ideas, provide support, answer questions, and offer solutions to problems for people who are coping with breast cancer.
The format of each meeting includes a short presentation by a guest speaker followed by informal group interaction. You may attend as often as you wish, and you can always bring along a family member or friend.

The Christie Clinic Diabetes Support Group (Diabetes Straight Talk)
Our Diabetes Support Group, Diabetes Straight Talk, meets from 6-7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month in the Christie on Windsor (1801 West Windsor Road, Champaign) 2nd Floor Southwest Meeting Room to discuss issues and concerns that are important when living with diabetes. Both Christie's diabetes educator and dietitian are available for questions or conversation.
The group is free and open to anyone who has diabetes or who has an interest in diabetes. Attendees can learn more about topics like monitoring blood sugar, understanding lab results, preparing injections, preventive care, nutrition, lifestyle, and more.

Uses and Disclosures of Healthcare Information Without Your Authorization
The following categories describe different ways that we may use and disclose your healthcare information without your written authorization. For each category, we will explain what we mean and try to give some examples. Not every use or disclosure in a category will be listed. However, all of the ways we are permitted to use and disclose healthcare information without written authorization fall within one of the categories.
We use and disclose medical information about you for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations. For example: Treatment: We may use or disclose your healthcare information to a physician or other health care provider in order to provide treatment to you.

We may use and disclose your healthcare information to obtain payment for services we provide to you. We may disclose your healthcare information to another healthcare provider or entity subject to the federal Privacy Rules so they can obtain payment.

You may give us written authorization to use your healthcare information or to disclose it to anyone for any purpose. If you give us an authorization, you may revoke it in writing at any time. Your revocation will not affect any use or disclosures permitted by your authorization while it was in effect. Unless you give us a written authorization, we cannot use or disclose your healthcare information for any reason except those described in this notice.
- To Your Family and Friends:

We may disclose your healthcare information to a family member, friend or other person to the extent necessary to help with your healthcare or with payment for your healthcare. We may use or disclose your name, location, and general condition or death to notify, or assist in the notification of (including identifying or locating), a person involved in your care.
Before we disclose your healthcare information to a person involved in your healthcare or payment for your healthcare, we will provide you with an opportunity to object to such uses or disclosures. If you are not present, or in the event of your incapacity or an emergency, we will disclose your healthcare information based on our professional judgment of whether the disclosure would be in your best interest.
We will also use our professional judgment and our experience with common practice to allow a person to pick up filled prescriptions, medical supplies, x-rays or other similar forms of healthcare information.

Instructions for Completing the Authorization Form
Provide your full name, date of birth, and a phone number where you can be reached during business hours, and mark the appropriate line indicating whether we should mail the records or you plan to pick them up.
Complete the numbered blanks as follows:

Enter the name of the organization/facility/person with the information to be disclosed. If this is not Christie Clinic, provide the full address.

Enter the name of the organization/facility/person you want the records sent to. Again, provide the full address if this is not Christie Clinic.

Indicate specifically which records you want to have copied. Examples: all pediatric records, ortho records regarding shoulder injury, obstetrical records from 2000 to present.

State the purpose for your disclosure. Examples: claim determination, workers comp. case, attorney, personal request.

Review paragraph 5, and initial it if you agree with the statement. (If this is not initialed and there is any reference to confidential diagnoses, we will not be able to comply with your request.)
