In the Department of Infectious Disease, Dr. England diagnoses and treats diseases transmitted through direct or indirect contact with infectious germs. These diseases may or may not be contagious, and the infections may occur in hospitalized patients or patients with underlying disease. Dr. England is also concerned with prevention of diseases that a person may be exposed to during international travel or as a result of contact with contagious individuals or animals.Hospital Affiliation

Dr. England is married to Barbara and has one son, Sam, and two stepchildren, Ben and Anne. In his free time, Dr. England enjoys jogging, hockey, racquetball, and basketball. He serves as area chair of the Harvard Club of Chicago’s Schools and Scholarship Committee and is president of the Radcliffe/Harvard Club of East Central Illinois.
