  “When I was a little boy, I broke my arm while we were stationed in Ankara, Turkey, and was hospitalized in Lybia, Africa. I remember the Air Force male orderly who befriended me during my long six-week bed rest in traction. He became my friend and made me feel very special. I wanted to be like him and be able to take care of people and make them feel special.”

  In the Department of Podiatry, Dr. Pierce diagnoses, treats, and helps prevent diseases and disorders affecting the feet and ankles of adults and children. He specializes in diabetic foot complications and reconstructive foot surgery. He also has a strong interest in the pathobiomechanics (abnormal function) of the foot and ankle.
