  Dr. Tangella is a member of the Board of Directors for the following: Christie Clinic, Provena Covenant Medical Center, Provena Covenant Medical Center Foundation, Champaign County Medical Society and Countryside School. He actively participates in collaborative translational research at the world renowned Beckman Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Tangella's research interests include cellular biomedical imaging and optical characteristics of cancers. He actively teaches medical students and internal medicine residents as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Departments of Pathology and Internal Medicine at the University of Ilinois College of Medicine. He was awarded the 2011 Board of Regents Young Executive Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives. Dr. Tangella and his wife, Mayra, enjoy traveling to new places with their family.
