The Department of Sleep Medicine is located at Christie's C U Sleep and is fully equipped to diagnose and treat sleep disorders, as well as educate patients on these disorders. Sleep studies are useful in uncovering hidden health issues such as obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, periodic limb movements, restless legs syndrome, REM behavior disorder, sleepwalking, and other disturbances. C U Sleep provides a comfortable, homelike atmosphere that lets patients follow their normal sleep schedules. While sleeping in a private bedroom, they are monitored for six to eight hours by C U Sleep technicians. Our technicians record and score sleep with state-of-the-art equipment; a physician specializing in sleep disorders interprets the results of each study.

In 2008, C U Sleep was granted full accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Only 1,000 sleep labs in the U.S. have received this accreditation, which is the gold standard for sleep centers and indicates top-quality services. C U Sleep is the only AASM accredited sleep lab in Champaign.
