Christie Clinic Begins Renovation at University Location

5/18/2011

Christie Clinic is pleased to announce the initiation of a major, multi-million dollar construction project at Christie Clinic in Champaign on University Ave.

“The addition and relocation of several physicians and expansion of other services, has caused us to focus on the need for using space more effectively.  It is important that we began this project immediately at our University location to continue to offer the Christie Clinic level of care our community has grown to trust,” said Alan Gleghorn, Christie Clinic’s Chief Executive Officer.

All our patients will benefit as a part of this project.  It will involve the replacement of all elevators with the newest technology.  Our lower level heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical systems will be updated to be more energy efficient.  An upgraded waiting room environment will be another one of the improvements.  There will be 17 ‘state of the art’ exam rooms better equipped to allow patients’ visits with their physicians to be enhanced.  This renovation will also add space for an additional 10 physicians.

This construction project is expected to be complete by fall 2011.  Minimal interruptions are expected because the work is confined to defined areas.
