Why is Christie Clinic no longer accepting cash and/or checks?

We’re making this change to create a simpler, more secure and convenient experience for our patients.

When does this begin?

The transition to cashless payments begins January 1, 2027.

How can I pay at the clinic? We will accept:

  • Credit/Debit cards
  • Prepaid debit cards
  • HSA/FSA cards and
  • Digital wallet payments

What if I only have cash and/or check?

Cash and/or check will continue to be accepted for balances incurred prior to January 1, 2027 at Christie Clinic in Bloomington on Empire Ste A, Christie Clinic at The Riverfront and Christie Clinic in Champaign on University.

Can I still pay my bill online?

Yes. Online bill pay continues to be available through the Christie Clinic patient portal.

Will this affect my appointment?

No. This change only affects how payments are accepted.

Will this affect my insurance?

No. Insurance coverage and billing processes remain the same.
