I was always interested in science, and I took a class in high school for health careers where I learned basic CNA skills. My interest really peaked with that, but at the same time, I was working in the dietary department at a local nursing care facility and enjoyed interacting with the residents so much that I decided to pursue becoming a nurse. I became a nurse practitioner after 25 years as a registered nurse. I was interested in becoming more autonomous and more knowledgeable about patient treatment.
I grew up in a large family of nine children in rural Gilman, IL. I am a proud aunt to three nephews and a niece. I live in Mahomet and enjoy reading, antiquing, and traveling.
