Why I Chose Health Care

My mom is a nurse and introduced me to the world of healthcare at an early age. My career began as a Certified Nurse Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, and now Advanced Practice Nurse. I’ve found inspiration in my faith in Jesus Christ and the prayerful decisions that have led my career to where it is today. Over the years, I have met patients and families who continue to motivate me to be better and strive for a deeper understanding of science and how we can improve healthcare outcomes in rural communities. I believe it is important to meet patients where they are and work together to help accomplish their healthcare goals.

In the Department of Internal Medicine & Pediatrics, Caitlyn provides comprehensive medical care for patients of all ages with an emphasis on wellness and preventative care.

I was born and raised in a small town here in Central Illinois. When I’m not working I enjoy reading, attending and volunteering at my church, traveling, and spending time with my husband and child. I also have a great appreciation for the outdoors and am learning how to deer hunt with my husband.

I am a proud Illinois State University Redbird! I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University. I chose their Family Nurse Practitioner program because I wanted the flexibility of an education that would allow me to see a variety of ages across the lifespan.
