In the Department of Cardiology, Karla diagnoses and treats diseases of the heart and blood vessels using cardiac diagnostic exams and testing for common cardiovascular conditions.
I knew from the time I was 5 years old that I wanted to be a nurse (or a rockstar!). My mother encouraged nursing. I volunteered as a teenager at a local hospital and that shaped my goals.
Outside of the clinic, you can usually find me in my garden. I love the dirt, the sun, the work, the produce. My husband and I have been working on about 3 acres of wildflowers for about 10 years now. Taking a walk through those plants is spiritual for me. In the winter I like to sew, mostly quilting. The puzzle work of quilting is fun to me. And I love to read, historical fiction mostly. Good book, good chair and a cat - pretty close to heaven.
