Growing up in St. Lucia, I witnessed the profound impact that access to preventive healthcare and patient education can have on the health of children and their families. My clinical experiences in both the Caribbean and underserved communities in the United States reinforced my passion for healthcare by highlighting the importance of early intervention, advocacy, and empowering families through education. These experiences continue to shape my commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care while improving health outcomes through preventive medicine.
In the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Mangal provides care with a focus on preventive medicine, patient education and family-centered care. She is passionate about supporting children and families through every stage of development and delivering compassionate, evidence-based care that promotes lifelong health and well-being.
Outside of work, I love reading, going for walks, traveling and spending time with family.
My passion for pediatrics grew from seeing the unique opportunity pediatricians have to care for children during some of the most important stages of their lives through prevention, advocacy and family-centered care. During my clinical training, I found fulfillment in caring for children across a wide range of settings and learned the importance of looking beyond the immediate illness to support each child's overall physical and emotional well-being. Those experiences continue to shape my approach to providing compassionate, family-centered care, as well as learning from the children, families and colleagues I have the privilege to work with.
