Why I Chose Healthcare

I believe that my decision to get into healthcare was a calling. It is something that I knew I should do from the age of 12. I had many influences that bolstered my interest including family, friends. Family Medicine allows for a doctor to be a true generalist. Caring for patients at various stages of life and through different challenges throughout the lifespan. I love that I am able to practice medicine and appreciate all aspects of the human experience.

In the Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Caviness is dedicated to caring for patients of all ages, offering comprehensive care for a wide range of medical needs.

Personal

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and being outdoors. I also enjoy learning about a broad variety of topics. An interesting fact about me is that over the last two years I have personally done several projects to develop a homestead in Missouri. Ask me how to construct a chicken coop from the ground up!

I want every patient to leave my office feeling heard, seen and truly cared for. I also encourage patients to ask questions, especially clarification questions. There’s no such thing as a question that’s too small when it comes to understanding your health and feeling confident in your care.
